Day Spas and Waxing Specialists in London

We know that it is a fact that hair removal through waxing is the longest-lasting temporary hair removal technique available. When wax is warm, it enters the follicle, allowing the hair to be pulled out from the root and it will be about 3 to 6 weeks before the hair grows back. So when you are looking for a professional method of hair removal you should contact a health spa, or a Waxing London centre.

What would you expect from your waxing London based beauty therapist if visiting them for the first time? First you will be given a special preconditioning lotion for waxing, important as regular lotions and creams make the wax slip from the hair, which is applied to the area. The big advantage of waxing is that it really does make your hair grow lighter over time. This is because the wax gets into the hair follicle and pulls the hair from the root, it grows back less thick than if the area is shaved.

Like most things, it is possible to wax at home, but the results can be indifferent and the cost of having professional treatments using a London waxing salon will usually give better results and you will look and feel better. There are many waxing professionals based in London that can be accessed online, where you can see the full range of waxing treatments available.

  • Should I get a new shower?

The shower at my place is really, really crap.  The shower head won’t stay up right, which is unbelievably irritating, it means you have to hold it in one hand to spray yourself, and whilst you are “lathering up” it just sprays on the wall, so you get soooo cold!  Horrible.

Not only that, but I’m starting to get leaks in the kitchen ceiling from where the shower cubicle leaks.

So I’ve been looking at getting myself a brand spanking new shower, I thought it best to get a good one, to avoid the problems I had before, so I am going to get myself a decent shower enclosure.  I’ve been looking at these shower enclosures for inspiration – they look amazing, although they are probs a tad expensive.  But as soon as I get paid I’m going to get one ordered :)

  • I know I’ve already been looking into a family ski holiday (see below), but it is my 20th wedding anniversary next year and want to go on a sort of second honeymoon just me and my wife. I had thought about a cruise and whilst checking out some cruise deals I found the Oasis of the Seas cruise ship. This is the largest cruise liner in the world and is nearly 40% bigger than the current biggest cruise ship.

The ship takes its maiden voyage on the 5th of December 2009 from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This is what I found out about the ship so far:

The ship itself is a marvel of modern engineering, weighing in at over 225,000 tones and measuring nearly 1,200ft long. The ship can hold up to 5,400 passengers and 900 crew, boasts 16 decks full of state of the art facilities including 24 restaurants and bars, boutiques and an ice rink as well as a ‘central park’ featuring 12,000 plants and 56 trees, a casino, a mini golf course and 4 swimming pools.

There is also a 750 seat theatre on board, aptly named the AquaTheater, which is modelled on the ancient Greek amphitheatre. There is a range of cabin options including loft apartment state rooms and cabins with either a sea view or view over the central park.

Virgin Holiday Cruises are doing a great deal at the moment, with 14 night cruises on the Oasis of the Seas from just £999 until November the 25th. Now if that doesn’t wet your appetite for a cruise holiday then nothing will.

I have to say that I’m tempted to book it now (our anniversary is in October next year), giving me plenty of time to save, but I will have to ask the wife first :-)

  • Hookah Pipes my Thoughts

In my  home town over in India, everyone has a Hookah pipe in their home and most restaurants have at least one to offer customers, although you’ll often find one at each table, they tend to have a selection of fine fruit tasting tobbaco which has a really juice flavour to it.  When i was younger and was living over in India before the big move i would happily smoke a Hookah while i was at a restaurant or out with and family.

Over here in the UK there isn’t such a big call for hookah smoking, since its not part of the culture but in the larger cities which have much more of a mixed culture you do find bars with hookahs on offer and the odd restaurant, which makes a change. I’ve really cut down on Smoking since moving to the UK since hookahs aren’t as readily available.

My son who is in his early 20’s occasionally smokes using a hookah pipes but he tends to smoke herbal highs over fruit flavoured tobacco, that I’m more familiar with smoking.

You can get some very decorative Hookah Pipes over in India but it can be hard to bring them back over with me due to there size.

  • Finding a broadband deal for my parents

At the weekend my parents decided that they wanted to join the internet revolution and asked me to find them a broadband package that wouldn’t cost them a fortune every month. Having had the internet for a number of years, I thought it was a great opportunity to show them how it worked by looking at broadband comparison sites.

I’m not really up on all the deals and packages out there (my broadband is through Sky and doesn’t cost me anything), so I decided to do a Google search. After clicking through a few websites to no avail, I stumbled across a broadband comparison site called Broadband Finder.

Broadband Finder is really easy to use, simply enter your postcode into the compare broadband box at the top and click on compare. The site then gives you a list of broadband packages, giving you information on the speed, download limit, setup cost and monthly cost as well as customer reviews and contact numbers. This is a great way to compare different providers as well as different packages offered by those providers.

As my parents already have a BT line and don’t need the bundled phone calls offered by some providers, I decided that the PlusNet Value package would be enough for my parents. This 12 month package comes with a broadband speed of up to 8Mbps, 10GB download limit a month and free setup for only £5.99 a month.

After choosing the broadband package I was transferred to the PlusNet website where I completed my parents order. If everything goes to plan they should be joining the internet revolution in the next week or so, but I bet I’ll have to set it up for them as they don’t really know a lot about computers.

For anyone who is looking for a broadband deal I would recommend Broadband Finder, the easy to use interface and range of options is great for finding the best deal.

  • Looking for Ski Deals

So my none of my family have been skiing, so I thought it would be a nice idea to perhaps book a short skiiing holiday for them all.  I’ve been looking all over for deals, but with little luck so far, although there are a few ski holidays I am considering.  I’m quite fortunate in that I’ve been to a dry ski slope not far from here, but my family are all newbies so I guess we’ll all need some instruction or something.

    ski-holiday

Anyways I best go now, my mum is calling and she wants to talk about where we can go, so I’m going to look on FastTrackSki until I find the best deal for us (I just hope my mum isn’t in one of her “picky” moods)!!!

  • UnderFloor Heating

This is something that has been bugging me the past few weeks since the weather has been a bit colder.

Underfloor heating, i probably should of taken the plunge a few month back and bought a bespoke diy kit, but the problem is always worse than you imagine, i dream of waking up on a morning and not having to stand on cold laminate flooring.

When Laminate flooring was first put on to the market a few years, back i did my entire bedroom with it. So needles to say that its now starting to look a little bit tired and its that awful colour that you see in council houses, I’d like to get a darker coloured flooring like Walnut.

Since I’m on economy 7 for my electricity tariff I’m hoping to have it wired up to this meter so that it makes the most of the cheap rate electricity.

I’m hoping to have it all completed over the space of a weekend this includes moving furniture out pulling up the old laminate, laying the underfloor heating and then putting the new laminate down and moving the furniture back.

This is my first blog, so I’m not really sure what to write.

It took me ages to choose a theme for my blog, but i picked this one as i liked the picture at the top. The space needle looks like the one in Seattle, and i tend to do a lot of travelling so i thought this was another reason to pick this theme.

I have a lot of hobbies which tend to take up most of my spare time these tend to include Photography, Online activaties such as bingo and gaming, home DIY and my travels.

Anyway that’s enough of my rambling for one post. I hope to keep my blog up to date.
