I’m sick of my shower, I’ve blogged about this before, whining that I’m going to get a new one, but I’ve still not gotten around to it. Well I’ve decided, this is my new years resolution – I’m going to do up the bathroom – I’m going to get a water underfloor heating kit from Floor Heating Online and a brand new shower with one of UK Bathrooms shower enclosures, and my bathroom is going to rock. I can imagine stepping out of the hot steaming shower onto a warm tiled floor right now. 2010, the year my bathroom gets pimped.

The snow is good too, of course there can be no guarantee anywhere, but being about a thousand-kilometre distance to any sea coast it can make for a very dry and enjoyable atmosphere, a sort of inland kind of snow that is usually found in places like Colorado in the USA.

Slovakia has a rich culture and should you decide to take a day off skiing, or the weather turns against you, there are plenty of other activities that you can take part in, for instance how about relaxing your body in one of the many spas found in the area, which is also a very popular après ski activity. There is a choice, anything from family-type spa centres to open-air natural spas. The nearby town of Besenová has an open-air spa centre. It is really a cool thing to bathe in hot thermal water in cold winter air, under the stars and the nearby dark mountain peaks. It’s time for me to get a new mobile phone as I have had my Sony Ericsson K850i for 18 months now. I would love an iPhone (who wouldn’t), but I’m a bit of a tight arse and don’t want to pay for a mobile phone so decided to have a look around and see what else is available.

To be honest I don’t need a decent mp3 player or camera as I hardly listen to music anyway and have a Canon Eos 450D for taking my pictures, but I would like my new phone to have a touchscreen and both Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity so I can browse the internet when I’m out and about.

I have been comparing mobile phones for a couple of days now and think I have narrowed it down to 2 choices; the HTC Magic and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. Both devices have 3.2 inch touchscreens, but the HTC runs the Android operating system and the 5800 XpressMusic runs their Symbian OS. Both also feature Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity and multimedia players, but the 5800 has a 3.5mm headphone socket compared to the miniUSB on the HTC.

I’m really torn between these two devices, although I think the HTC Magic is better looking. If anyone has any views on any of these mobile phones post a comment below, any help or user reviews would be greatly appreciated.
