No Not That Mohamed

No really, I mean it, this time I’m going to get my bathroom sorted, I’m going to get a new shower enclosure sorted and also get a shower unit bought , I’ve been looking at some of the Mira showers and think I’ll probably opt for one of the middle of the range ones around the £300 mark.
I’m hoping to get the Shower unit in first and then get the get the shower enclosure built around that, hopefully this way I should really only be out of action for 1 day.
It’s probably going to cost around £1000 roughly, £300 for shower and around £500 for the enclosure which leaves £200 for the plumber to do his work.
My shower can be a bit temperamental at the moment, it can’t supply constant hot water the temperature seems to fluctuate quite a bit which can be rather annoying to say the least.

As you might have gathered from my name, I’m not exactly your stereotypical Anglo-Saxon. I’m actually descended from communities in Rural Pakistan. I’ve only been over there once when I was young to see my Great Uncle, and aside from holidays I’ve never really left the rainy corner of England that I call ‘home’.
And yet, now the economic tides are closing in all around me. I’ve heard a few friends remark that they think that the job market is turning against them. Obviously, it is for everyone right now, but it’s hardly news that there is anti-immigrant sentiment out there and some of that must be feeding into hiring choices. I’m not saying that I’ve been denied a job because of my background, but I am wondering whether I should start to think about looking elsewhere…
With my background in technical matters, I was thinking about a taking a temporary job in Dubai or something. I see lots of positions which match my areas of expertise.
Oddly, I think the thing that might stop me would be the weather! Having grown up in the cold and sleet (and it is bloody cold today, I might add) I’m not sure how I feel about working in the stifling heat of the Middle East. I know you might be thinking that us Asians are somehow naturally impervious to extremes of heat, but that’s not right. Even if it was true, my family come from Northern Pakistan and by my dad’s telling the winters there make UK winters look like nothing.
So what do you think? Should I take a short-term job abroad in order to escape the economic climate over here. I’d miss my friends, family and Gregg’s pasties but it would definitely look good on my CV….

I’m sick of my shower, I’ve blogged about this before, whining that I’m going to get a new one, but I’ve still not gotten around to it. Well I’ve decided, this is my new years resolution – I’m going to do up the bathroom – I’m going to get a water underfloor heating kit from Floor Heating Online and a brand new shower with one of UK Bathrooms shower enclosures, and my bathroom is going to rock. I can imagine stepping out of the hot steaming shower onto a warm tiled floor right now. 2010, the year my bathroom gets pimped.

The shower at my place is really, really crap. The shower head won’t stay up right, which is unbelievably irritating, it means you have to hold it in one hand to spray yourself, and whilst you are “lathering up” it just sprays on the wall, so you get soooo cold! Horrible.
Not only that, but I’m starting to get leaks in the kitchen ceiling from where the shower cubicle leaks.
So I’ve been looking at getting myself a brand spanking new shower, I thought it best to get a good one, to avoid the problems I had before, so I am going to get myself a decent shower enclosure. I’ve been looking at these shower enclosures for inspiration – they look amazing, although they are probs a tad expensive. But as soon as I get paid I’m going to get one ordered

In my home town over in India, everyone has a Hookah pipe in their home and most restaurants have at least one to offer customers, although you’ll often find one at each table, they tend to have a selection of fine fruit tasting tobbaco which has a really juice flavour to it. When i was younger and was living over in India before the big move i would happily smoke a Hookah while i was at a restaurant or out with and family.
Over here in the UK there isn’t such a big call for hookah smoking, since its not part of the culture but in the larger cities which have much more of a mixed culture you do find bars with hookahs on offer and the odd restaurant, which makes a change. I’ve really cut down on Smoking since moving to the UK since hookahs aren’t as readily available.
My son who is in his early 20’s occasionally smokes using a hookah pipes but he tends to smoke herbal highs over fruit flavoured tobacco, that I’m more familiar with smoking.
You can get some very decorative Hookah Pipes over in India but it can be hard to bring them back over with me due to there size.
